Doris Baldwin (Morrison)

Doris J. Baldwin Morrison, 47, of Delphi, died at 4:05 a.m. on Oct. 19, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare center.  She had been a patient there since Sept. 7, and in ill health with cancer since April 2002.
  Born in Lafayette on July 30, 1956, she was the daughter of Clifford D. and Marilyn Shaffer Baldwin.
  She was a 1974 graduate of Delphi High School, and received her B.S. in elementary education from Hyles-Anderson College in Hammond.  She taught for two years at a Christian elementary school in Hobart.
  Mrs. Morrison worked at State Farm Insurance in West Lafayette for 17 years.  She was the supervisor of the auto claims department before she retired in July 2003 due to failing health.
  While at State Farm, she attended many professional seminars and educational courses.
  She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lafayette, where she was a Sunday school teacher, and took care of the nursery.
  Mrs. Morrison was a member of State Farm Toastmasters Club, where she was a past president and a past regional governor, and had achieved advanced status in the club.
  She was on the board of directors of the Monticello Softball Association.  Her hobbies were cross stitch, flower gardening, decorating and travel.
  Surviving are her parents of DelphI; a son, Lee D. Morrison of Delphi; two daughters, Leesa J. Morrison of Lafayette, and Leah J. Morrison of Delphi; her children's father, Doug Morrison of Monticello; two brothers, Mike Baldwin of Lafayette, and Matthew D. Baldwin of Delphi; a sister, Dorothy Hesler of Delphi; and a granddaughter.
  She was preceded in death by an infant sister.
  Services are today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home with pastors Steve Viars and Mark Dutton officiating.  Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery in Delphi.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
  Memorials may be made to the Carroll County Cancer Association.
