Michael Steven Daly, 53, of the Indiana Veterans’ Home, formerly of Delphi, died at 7:15 a.m. July 22, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. Born Dec. 16, 1948, in Lafayette, he was the son of Joseph R. “Dick” and Julia Hubertz Daly. He attended Delphi High School and was a Specialist First Class in the Army from 1969 to 1974. He was stationed in Germany and various bases in the United States. He enjoyed cards and listening to books on tape. Surviving are his mother, of Delphi; seven sisters, Mary Daly of Burbank, Calif., Susan Daly of Buford, Ga., Jo Ann Carr of Madison, Wis., Maureen Parker and Brenda Daly Reid, both of Flora, Sara Daly-Brosman of Brookston, and Christina Daly of Lakewood, Colo.; and one brother, Gregory Daly of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Chapel, Delphi. Friends may call today (Wednesday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Delphi, with military rites by the Delphi American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
