Hi Ryne!

You were an awesome student! And definitely one of the "elite." And your success was just a matter of all that natural talent rising to the surface. I thrilled to read that you completed a Master's degree, and that you're working at Texas A&M. Congratulations...and thanks! I hope you'll stay in touch, because I would love to hear about your career!

Thanks and Best Wishes

I didn't realize it in high school, but the things we do and the projects we associate ourselves with have a significant impact in our future. That said, I would like to thank Mrs. Brettnacher for her influence and education during my time at Delphi.

I wasn't one of the "elite" students in high school, but Mrs. Brettnacher allowed me into her advanced English class so that my schedule would afford me the opportunity to write for the Parnassus. I had a great deal of respect for her and tried my hardest in her advanced English course(s). Thanks to her challenging me and my abilities, English became one of my favorite subjects in high school, in my Bachelor's work and then again in my Master's work.

So what about the Parnassus? I had the opportunity to use that experience and write for the Ball State Daily News for two academic years. Then the dominoes fell. Because of writing for the paper, I became acquainted with members of the Ball State athletic department and worked there as a student assistant. Because of the student assistant job, I was offered a graduate assistantship which led to my current career in athletic compliance at Texas A&M!

In short, Mrs. Brettnacher not only pushed me to achieve more intellectually, but also opened the doors for me in ways I couldn't have imagined.

Thanks so much for your teaching and encouragement.

Enjoy the many years ahead of retirement and your new endeavors!

Thank you, Mrs. Brettnacher

Mrs. Brettnacher is the reason I became an English teacher. I was lucky enough to work with Mrs. Brettnacher for two years: as a junior on the English Super Bowl team, and as a senior in her AP English class. Her passion for the subject and compassion for her students; her sense of humor, creativity in lessons, and fun approach to classroom seating -- these engaged and inspired me as a youth and remain equally inspiring to me now. Her support and concern for me as an individual -- and for my fellow classmates -- mark her as an exceptional educator. Mrs. Brettnacher was always willing to talk with me about any concerns I might have, class-related or not. I will never forget Mrs. Brettnacher and the impressions she made on me are lasting. I am sad my brother -- now a sophomore at Delphi -- will not have the opportunity to be her student, but I couldn't be happier for Mrs. Brettnacher.

You deserve nothing but the best, Mrs. Brettnacher. Thank you for all you have done in my life and for all the lessons you have taught me. May the best be yet to come! Happy holidays and happy New Year :)

	Ever your student,

I have had so much fun working with Pat and her students over the years, but the fondest memory is of Rose, the Library Dog. Through Rose, Pat reached out to even more students beyond her classes. Rose even posed for her school picture. Thanks for the memories. We learned a lot along the way too.
