Catherine Gelmene Knight, 77, Logansport, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020, in St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.
Born in Lafayette on April 17, 1943, she was the daughter of Paul Vernon and Thelma Mae Sterrett Page.
On Nov. 1, 1963, in Delphi, she was married to Gene F. Knight, who survives.
A 1961 graduate of Delphi High School, she had been employed with the former Globe Valve Corporation, also in Delphi. After marriage, she worked as a billing clerk at the former Kains Motor Company and then at the former Logansport Metal Culvert. In 1968, she went to work at Switches (Federal Mogul), where she retired in 2003 with 37 years of service.
Catherine loved to raise African violets. She also loved to work in yard, embroider, sew, and loved to care for her granddaughter.
Also surviving are son, James T. Knight; and granddaughter, Cassandra Knight and her mother, former daughter-in-law, Michelle Knight.
Also surviving are sisters Doris Ann (Duane) Johnson and Joyce E. Rider; and several nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her father- and mother-in-law, Hunk and Lorene Knight; brother-in-law, David Rider; and nephew, Gary (Trina) Stonebreaker. She was also preceded in death by her childhood stepmother, Jane Page and stepfather, Owen Delaney.
The service will be private with burial in Rock Creek Cemetery in Carroll County.
