Sharon L. Berkshire Parr, 75, of Delphi, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday-October 11, 2022, at 3:48pm, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette. She had been a patient there for 10 days. She was born September 28, 1947, in Logansport, to the late Byron C. Berkshire & Melba Wasson Berkshire Aldrich. Her marriage was to William C. "Bill" Parr in Delphi, on September 5, 1965, and he survives. She was a 1965 graduate of Delphi High School and completed her nurses training at Ivy Tech in Lafayette. While going to nursing school, she was an EMT at the former Home Hospital in Lafayette. She had worked in nursing in Kokomo and was an ICU nurse at the former St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, now St. E Central, for over 20 years, retiring from there in 2006. She was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church, where she was active with the prayer team, involved with a women's small group, and helped cook the weekly Rotary meal. She also was a student mentor at the Delphi Community Elementary School which she greatly enjoyed. She and her family formerly lived on Lake Freeman, and she enjoyed lake activities, boating, skiing, swimming, and beautiful sunsets. She loved being outside working in her flower beds and helping with their garden. She loved to sit on her screened in porch watching the birds and deer on their property. She enjoyed crafts, loved to bake, and was an avid reader. She dearly loved her family. That was her life being with them for family gatherings, so she could see her 4 grandsons'. Surviving: husband-William "Bill" C. Parr of Delphi, daughter-Vicki Jo & Jason Sumner of Evansville, daughter-Wendy & Brad Pogue of Delphi, sister-Betty Heise of Burrows, sister-in-law-Betty Lou Berkshire of Delphi. 4 grandsons: Ty Hoard, Cody Hoard, Zackary Pogue, Lucas Sumner. Preceded by a brother John, brother-in-law Wayne, sister Carol. Services: The family will receive friends Thursday-Oct. 20, 2022, from 4pm until her memorial service at 7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Rev. Todd Ladd will officiate.
