Joann Larimore (VanNatta) - Class Of 1951

Joann (Larimore; Metzger) VanNatta, 90, of Battle Ground, died at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi on December 16, 2023 from complications following surgery. She was born on March 29, 1933, in Delphi, Indiana to the late Charles O. and G. Irene (Shockey) Larimore.

She graduated from Delphi High School in 1951 . She worked many different jobs throughout her adult life but found her true calling midway through life after she divorced and met her second husband Charles and began farming. Joann continued working on the farm with Charles for 30 years. She was a diehard Boilermaker fan, later in life asking us to write the games and channel numbers down so she wouldn’t miss them. She was a great cook and she loved all animals.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle (husband: Don) Redding of West Lafayette, and son Mike Metzger (Companion: Nina Stewart) of Terre Haute, Indiana

She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren; Stacey Redding of San Jose, California; Stephanie Kane of Tampa, Florida; Melinda (husband: Scott) Therkalsen of San Diego, California; John (wife: Brittany) of Battle Ground, Indiana; Shauna White; Adam (wife: Jennifer) Metzger; Tony Metzger; Rachel Metzger all of Lafayette, Indiana

She is also survived by 16 Great Grandchildren; Zoe, Alex, Noah, and Maya Bakas of San Jose, California; Jameson and Landon Kane of Tampa, Florida; Avery and Morgan Therkalsen of San Diego, California; Lilah Redding of Battle Ground; Caleb, Cadon, Colin, and Charlotte White; and Aiden, Mason and Kailyn Metzger all of Lafayette, Indiana.

Joann was preceded in death by her Husband Charles R. VanNatta, three brothers, Donald Larimore; Edgar Larimore; and Robert Larimore; and eight sisters, Beatrice Isaacs; Bonnie Bayer; Evelyn Prichard; Edith Isaacs; Mary Belle Larimore; Delores Eberle; Betty Maxwell; and Barbara Nelson.

She is also survived by a very special niece, Sandy Jenkins, of Delphi, who continued to visit her and keep her company when she moved to Assisted Living. Joann was a very generous woman and she will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
