It is with sadness, we announce that we had to say goodbye to Neta Louise (Smith) Danforth, 68, of Delphi. She passed away on Oct. 6, 2023, at her home in Monticello, Ind.

Neta was born Aug. 26, 1955, in Lafayette Ind., to Gerald and Bertie (Wamsher) Smith. She was a 1973 graduate of Delphi Community High School. On March 6, 2010, she married Douglas Danforth, who survives.

Neta worked for The Flower Shoppe II for 31 years, then for Twin Lakes High School as the kitchen manager for 10 years. She enjoyed volunteering for the Delphi Senior Center.

Surviving Neta are her stepchildren, Becky Shuler (Lon), Kelly Daniels, Steve Daniels, and Ron Daniels (Dusty); grandchildren, Wade Shuler (Ashley), Jarred Daniels, Jordan Daniels, Braden Daniels (Brenda), Selby Barbour, Alexis Daniels, Chevelle Daniels, Dustin Daniels; and great-grandchildren, Kendall Shuler, Kareena Shuler and Paxton Dixon.

Neta was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Penny Soper; and former husband, Roger Daniels.

Davidson Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation.
