Gerry L. Underhill, 77, of Delphi, passed away in his home on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Born December 2, 1935, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Gilbert "Gib" and Lela (Beale) Underhill. Gerry was a 1954 graduate of Delphi High School. He honorably served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1958.

Gerry was the founder of Delphi Products, Underhill Industries, and National Building Systems. He was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church, member and past president of Delphi Rotary, a member of American Legion Post 75 and Delphi VFW 9383. He was a world traveler and enjoyed buying and selling properties.

On May 15, 1955, he married Frances Faye Hitchcock in the Delphi Presbyterian Church and she survives. Also surviving are his three children, Julie Buckingham (husband, Michael) of Columbus, Ohio, Blair G Underhill (wife, Rhonda) of Monticello, and Jill Mugg (husband, Brad) of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and two sisters, Carol Ward (husband, Jerry) of Naperville, Ill., and Janie Smith (husband, Dave) of Delphi. Seven grandchildren also survive, Makenzie, Kylie, Quincy, Rachel, Leah, Cooper, and Joslyn. He was preceded in death by a son, D. Blake Underhill; and a grandson, Blake Lane Underhill.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Delphi United Methodist Church. Funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Todd Ladd officiating.
