Heather Herron

Heather R. Herron, 50, of Kokomo, formerly of Delphi, passed away Wednesday-February 28, 2024, at 1:56am, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. She had battled pancreatic cancer since December of 2023. Heather was born on January 14, 1974, in Lafayette to her late father Frank A. Herron, and her mother Sharon M. DeVries Herron, who survives. Her marriage was to Carolyn Combs, in Logansport, on July 10, 1996, and she survives. Heather graduated from Delphi Community High School in 1993, and had attended Ivy Tech in Kokomo, their surg-tech program, was in her clinicals, completing her 2nd year. Heather worked in the food service industry for many years at restaurants in Delphi, Logansport, Lafayette, and Tipton. She was a homemaker and stay at home mom too. Heather was raised in the Delphi First Baptist Church and had attended the Delphi Methodist Church where her sisters and mother attend. She enjoyed all crafts. Making things she saw online and social media. She loved all animals, especially her two dogs Anna & Princess. She was an avid reader and loved Amish fiction. She liked to go on motorcycle rides with her family, playing euchre, and enjoyed watching firework displays on the 4th of July and anytime! She loved listening to Christian music. Heather's greatest love was for her family. From the many sporting and school functions she attended to watch her son, to the Sunday family dinners hosted at her mother's house. Always a smile on her face, that lit up the room she was in, to the many pranks she would pull on her family, she dearly loved them all. They were her life. Surviving: wife-Carolyn Herron of Kokomo, son-Hayze M.L. Herron at home in Kokomo, mother-Sharon M. Herron of Delphi, sister-Lisa & Jeff Delaney of Delphi, sister-Ann & Mike Hughes of Delphi, brother-Roger & Lisa Woods of Winter Haven, FL, brother-Terry & Susan Woods of Winter Haven, FL, 13 nieces & nephews, stepson-Lee & Brittany Sands of Hemlock, a granddaughter Katee. Preceded in death by a niece Meagan, and grandparents. Services: Visitation will be Friday from 4pm to 7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Her funeral service will be there on Saturday at 11am, Rev. Todd Ladd officiating. Burial of her ashes will be at Masonic Cemetery at a later date.
