Catherine M. "Cathy" Warthan, 37, of Lafayette, died at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis.


Born Oct. 21, 1972, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Lillian Warthan and the late David Warthan. She was a 1992 graduate of Delphi High School.

Miss Warthan was a homemaker and volunteer worker, assisting handicapped children. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 796. She enjoyed camping, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family.

Surviving with her mother are a brother, Steven Warthan (wife: Kathy "Katie") of Delphi; a sister, April Warthan (companion: Kerry Montgomery) of Lafayette; and a stepsister, Teresa Lidy (husband: Jay) of Peru.

Also surviving are 2 nephews, Steven and Robby; a niece, Angelica; a stepniece, Jennifer; and her special friend, Paul Lovell.
