John Maxwell - Class Of 1930

  John P. Maxwell, 82, of Rt. 4, Delphi, died at 12:15 p.m. March 15, 1994, in his home.
  Born Feb. 25, 1912, in Los Angeles, Calif., he was the son of Chester and Zelda Loy Maxwell.  He was married March 8, 1936, to Anna J. Fisher in Flora, who survives.
  He came to Delphi when he was one-year-old.  He attended Madison Township schools and graduated from Delphi High School in 1930.  He also attended Purdue University.
  Maxwell farmed in Carroll County and had retired.
  He was a former member of the Indiana National Guard, Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 48, Moose Lodge and the Grange at Radnor.
  Also surviving are two sons, William "Bill" Maxwell of Rt. 4, Delphi, and Joseph Maxwell of Mount Shasta, Calif.; a daughter Bonnie Maxwell of Georgetown; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.  A sister and granddaughter preceded him in death.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Horn Funeral Home, Delphi, with the Rev. John Cowan officiating.  Burial will be in Zion Cemetery near Flora.  Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
