Jetse M. Gerbens, 65, Lafayette, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1982, at Venice, Fla., following a brief illness.
  Born at Delphi, he had been a resident of the Lafayette area most of his life.  For the past 27 years he lived in Florida during the winter.  In 1940 he was married at Delphi to Georgia E. Blake.  He had been a master machinist at Fairfield Mfg. Co., Inc., 38 years.  He retired in 1978.  His parents were Martin and Sarah Robinson Gerbens.
  Surviving with the wife are three daughters, Kathleen Gerbens and Marilou Steele,  both of West Lafayette, and Sue Ellen Childes of Bloomington; one son, Martin Gerbens of Venice, Fla.; a brother, Albert Gerbens of Phoenix, Ariz., and six grandchildren.
  Services were this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Lafayette with interment in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
