DELPHI -- Mary A. Cripe Lamb, 92, formerly of Delphi, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Beech Grove Meadows. She had been in failing health since moving there in 2006.

She was born May 21, 1918, in Delphi, to the late Charles and Ethel Snyder Cripe.

She was a 1936 graduate of Delphi High School, and received her accounting degree from Ivy Tech in South Bend.

She married Frank W. Lamb Jr., in Delphi, on Dec. 21, 1941. He preceded her in death June 20, 1969. She and her family moved to South Bend, where they lived for more than 20 years.

She worked for J.C. Penney in South Bend, as a buyer for more than 15 years.

She belonged to United Methodist Church in South Bend, former Order of the Eastern Star in Delphi, former Psi Iota Xi sorority in Delphi. She enjoyed sewing and crafts.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon J. Smith of Indianapolis; and a sister, Evelyn Cripe of Delphi.
