He was born on July 6, 1925 in Delphi to the late John and Edna Delaney. He was the youngest of 5 boys. He married Mary Margaret Schnepp on Aug. 21, 1946. Mary Margaret still lives in Delphi.

 

Bus and his wife Mary Margaret were both 1944 graduates of Delphi High School. Bus was a starting player all 4 years on the Varsity Basketball Team. He held a class office all 4 years while in high school. Bus was taken out of high school in the middle of his senior year to serve in World War II. His principal made sure he received his diploma.

 

Bus worked at Globe Valve in Delphi for 26 years. Then he worked at Eli Lilly in Lafayette for 14 years until his death.

 

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi.

 

His children are:  Brenda Robertson class of "1967" now living in Dayton,Ind. and Jeff Delaney class of "1971" now living in Lafayette. He has 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
