Mildred Wise (Wilson)

 Mrs. Mildred Wise Wilson, 57, of 1205 East Main St., Delphi, member of a family long prominent in Carroll County, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday evening in St. Elizabeth Hospital.  She had been ill four months.

     Born near Delphi, January 1, 1906, her parents were Lewis and Faye Shockley Wise.  She was graduated from Delphi High School in 1925 and in 1926 was married to Homer Wilson.  She had served as secretary of the Carroll County Republican Central Committee and as a secretary in the law firm of Obear and Overholser.  She was at one time employed in the County License Branch.  She was a member of the Presbyterian church and had been a Sunday School teacher there for many years.

     Surviving with the husband, who is the deputy county surveyor, are her mother, Mrs. Faye B. Wise of Camden; two sons, Walter E. of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jesse L. of route 12, Lafayette; a brother, Dr. Charles Wise of Camden; two sisters.  Mrs. Genevieve Plank of near Cutler and Mrs. Louise Garrison of Route 5, Valparaiso.

     Rites were held Wednesday from the Cornell funeral home (formerly Eikenberry funeral home) with Rev. James Wm. Rankin officiating.  Burial was in the Wise cemetery at Camden.
