Miss Viola J. Emrick, 75, of 317 N. Market St., Delphi, was found dead in her home at 8:15 a.m. Friday morning, September 2, 1983.  Death was unexpected.  She was born November 6, 1907, in Carroll County, the daughter of John B. and Mary Sines Emrick.
  For many years, Miss Emrick was a beautician with shops in Delphi and Lafayette.  After she retired from hairdressing, she owned and operated a taxi service in Delphi for several years.
  She was a life long member and former deaconess of the First Presbyterian Church in Delphi, the Delphi Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons, the Eagles, and a life member of the Carroll County Historical Society.  She was a 1925 graduate of Delphi High School.
  Miss Emrick is survived by one sister, Dorothy McDonald of Kokomo, one nephew, two great-nephews, and one great-niece.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Sheets, in 1981.
  Graveside services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Zion Cemetery with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.  Horn-Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
