Larry Boone - Class Of 1922

 Larry E. Boone, 76, Rt. 1, Delphi, Carroll County Commissioner for the past five and a half years, was pronounced dead on arrival at 12:38 a.m. Sun., May 11, 1980, at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.

  Born May 15, 1903 in Carroll County, he was the son of David W. and Elizabeth Caldwell Boone.  His marriage February 4, 1924, in Danville was to Pauline Pearson, who died July 7, 1978.  He was engaged to be married to Dorothy Hill of Delphi on May 30.
  A 1922 graduate of Delphi High School, Boone operated a service station in Delphi for 35 years and was a Delphi volunteer fireman for 30 years.
  He was a member of Delphi Presbyterian Church, Mount Olive Lodge No. 48 F.&A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Carroll County F.O.P. and Super Excellent Master of Logansport Council No. 11 Royal Select Masters.  He was serving his second term as county commissioner.
  Surviving are one son, Kenneth W. Boone, and one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Joan) Hatter, both of Rt. 1, Delphi; one brother, Bartley Boone, Kokomo; four sisters, Grace Julien of Soldiers Home, Lafayette, Mrs. Walter (Blanche) Kite of Buck Creek.  Margaret Miller of Lafayette, and Mrs. Floyd (Esther) Johns Jr. of Yeoman; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were this afternoon at Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. James Rankin officiating.  Burial was in Masonic Cemetery at Delphi.
  Memorial contributions were suggested for the Heart Fund.
