The funeral of Hildred Mayhill Crawford, 87, was Friday at Santa Anna, Calif.
  She died Monday, April 11, 1988, at Newport Beach, Cali.
  Born in Flora, she was the daughter of Noah and Minnie Mayhill.  Her father was an owner of The Hoosier Democrat before the family moved to Delphi in 1910 when her father and uncle, Bert Mayhill, purchased The Delphi Journal.  She graduated from Delphi High School in 1919.
  The family moved to California in 1925 where she became a newspaper publisher and editor in southern California.  She was also a radio commentator at Palm Springs.
  Survivors are a son, William, of Costa Mesa, Calif., and a sister, Alma Lou Wilson.
