Larry E. Gruber, 85, 312 E Franklin St., Delphi, died last Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. Born Jan. 17, 1890,in Delphi, he was the son of Harry and Jenny Galloway Gruber. He married Nellie Hufty March 27, 1919, and she survives. Gruber was a member of the United Methodist Church, Odd Fellows Lodge No 28 and Tipwa Grange, all of Delphi He spent his entire life in the Delphi community and was a retired farmer. Other survivors are one son. Everett of Levittown. N.Y. one stepson. Forest Owens of Anaheim, Cal.. and one daughter. Mrs. Freida Page of Tucson, Ariz. Also one brother, Charles of Sylvania, Ohio, one sister, Rosia Chroninger. of Michigan, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren survive. Funeral services were Saturday at Jackson Funeral Home in Delphi with Rev. Donald Ashley officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Delphi.
