Millard Quinn - Class Of 1915

Millard Quinn, 49, Delphi native and a rural mail carrier for the Delphi Post office for more than 28 years, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the family home. His death was atributed to a sudden heart seizure and came as a great shock to the community. Mr. Quinn has served the patrons of Delphi, route 2, for many years, succeeding his father, the late Frank Quinn, on the route. Born in Delphi on December 3, 1897, Millard was the son of Frank and Minta (Cooley) Quinn. He was a member of the Delphi Presbyterian Church and had been an active member of the Carroll County Chapter of the American Red Cross. A graduate of the Delphi High School, he attended Purdue University. Surviving with the widow, Edna Best Quinn, is one son, William Quinn, student at Indiana University; his mother, Mrs. Minta Quinn of Delphi;, a brother, Paul Quinn of Chicago. The body is at the Grimm Funeral Home in Delphi where friends may call. Funeral rites will be conducted at the funeral home Friday afternoon at 3 p. m. (DST) with the Rev. Miles Allen Freeman, pastor of the Delphi Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery.
