Robert Toole - Class Of 1898

Robert Toole, 65, former editor of the Flora Enterprise, who was born in Madison township Feb. 26, 1874, and later graduating from Delphi high school and at various times was news manager of the Journal, Citizen and Herald at East Moline, Ill., Thursday night. He is survived by a second wife Mrs. Edith Maxwell Toole of Flora. He attributed his greatest fame as editor of Mt. Morris Index and the Mystic Workers of the World, and State Secretary to of this great organization. which he resigned in 1926 on account of ill heath and came home here for six months to visit old friends and then went to the Elks home in Bedford, Va., in 1927. He stayed there until 1930 and then went to East Moline Ill. hospital. He was better known as a writer of the Flora Enterprise as "Bill Fuzz" an article he contributed regularly and was read with much interest everywhere the paper circulated. He was a cripple and went everywhere on crutches and enjoyed the acquaintances and large circle of friends. The funeral was held at Mt. Morris, Ill. at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial at Mt. Morris cemetery with an Elk's service.
