Pearl Roach (Brooke) - Class Of 1899

Mrs. E. L. Brooke, a well known resident of Delphi, died Friday, November 12, at eleven o'clock p. m. of tuberculosis at a sanitarium in Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Brooke had been ill for about a year and just a few months ago her husband had taken her to Denver hoping the change of climate would be of some benefit to her, but she slowly declined until the end came. Mrs. Brooke is the daughter of Mrs. William Roach of Delphi, she was born June 13, 1881 and was married June 25, 1902 to E. L. Brooke and has lived in Delphi most of her married life. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was a devoted mother and wife, her life being spent in loving service for her family. Her self sacrificing christian life was an inspiration and example to all who knew her. She was the mother of seven children, two Mary and Paul having succeeded her in death. She is survived by her husband and five children, John, Florence, Helen, William and Joe, her mother, two sisters, Mrs. Luther Grantham and Mrs. Walter Dobbins and a brother Harry Roach all of Delphi. The funeral services were held at the house Tuesday at two o'clock in charge of Reverend Kimberlin.
