Kenneth Bell

Kenneth L. Bell, 57, of Lafayette, former Delphi Elementary School teacher, died at 8:24 p.m. Monday, April 6, 1981, in Home Hospital, Lafayette, following a heart attack suffered earlier at his home.
  Born at Syracuse, he was married in 1946 to Lorraine Copeland, who died in 1977.  In 1978 he was married to Pauline "Polly" Howard Clark, who survives.
  Bell served in the Navy from 1945-1950.  In 1951 he was graduated from Purdue University and received his master's degree from there in 1961.
  He taught at Delphi Elementary School from 1954-1966.  While at Delphi, he began writing sports for the former Delphi Journal-Citizen newspaper and in 1966 joined the Journal and Courier sports staff as a part-time writer.
  He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School.
  Surviving with the wife are three daughters, Lora Lynn Bell Devaney, a student at the University of Massachusetts, Deborah Myrene Bell of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Monta Kay Bell, a student at Indiana University; two step-daughters, Mrs. R. Kip (Patricia) Treece of Mulberry and Mrs. Michael D. (Anita) Boas of Dayton; a stepson, David Allen Clark of Crawfordsville; one sister, Mrs. Louis (Edna) Stull of Warsaw; three brothers, Robert Bell of Syracuse, Lewis "Dude" Bell of Cromwell and Frederick Bell of Bristol; and five step grandchildren.
  Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Landis-Loy Mortuary, Lafayette.  Family service in the Landis-Loy Chapel will be at 2 p.m. Thursday with the memorial service following at 4 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to Tippecanoe County Heart Fund or Diabetes Foundation.
