Services were Monday at Thompson Funeral Home, Delphi, for Virgil C. Liebert, 63, Rt. 4, Delphi who died Saturday, Jan. 29, 1983, at 1:05 a.m. at Home Hospital, Lafayette, after a lengthy illness. 

      Born Feb. 9, 1919, in Delphi, he was the son of Frank and Laura Crosier Liebert.  His marriage was to Ruth L. Greenup in Delphi in 1943.  She survives.

      Mr. Liebert was a farmer and member of the Delphi Presbyterian Church.

      Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Susie McCormick, Rt. 1, Bringhurst and Marge Franklin, Rt. 2, Delphi; two sons, David and Jim, Rt. 4, Delphi; two sisters, Shirley Smith, Delphi, and Hazel Liebert, Lafayette; one brother, Frank, Fort Worth, Tex.; and nine grandchildren.  One brother preceded him in death.

      Rev. Ellis Gasser and Rev. James Rankin were officiating ministers and burial was in Morning Heights Cemetery, Delphi.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
