Paul R. Tanco, 76, a native of Delphi and longtime resident of Lafayette, died unexpectedly at 1:30 p.m . Jan. 3, 1991, in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Delphi, and graduated from Delphi High School. He married Georgia Vandergrift Funkhouser on Nov. 24, 1967, in Lafayette. A 32-year employee of Alcoa in the maintenance department, he retired in 1972. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Frank Tanco of Arizona and Rob Tanco of California; a stepson, Robert Funkhouser of Romney; a sister; and two grandchildren. Services were Monday in Lafayette.
