James Craft - Class Of 1979

James Dean “Jimmy” Craft, 43, of Delphi, died unexpectedly at 4:10 a.m. on March 27,2004, at his residence. Born in Logansport on December 27, 1960, he was the son of James C. and Dorothy L. Davis Randle Craft. He attended Delphi High School. His marriage was in Delphi on April 23, 2003, to Rend D. Wiseman, and she survives. Mr. Craft owned and operated J&R Construction in Delphi, doing remodeling and new construction. He had worked for Loy-Quinn Roofing in Delphi, for several years. He attended Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and music. Surviving are three daughters, Patrisha D. Craft, at home, Samantha D. Craft of Monticello and Amber Vandervort of Chalmers; two step-daughters, Kristye R. Swafford of Delphi and Sara A. Zagone at home; two stepsons, T. Wayne Swafford and William L. Swafford, both of Lowell; his mother. Dorothy L. Carter of Flora; four sisters, Wannetta Roskuski of Delphi, Doris Dickey, Kathy Butler and Pamela Berning all of Lafayette, two brothers, Kenny J. Randle of Delphi, and Russell Carter Jr. of Tazewell, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and a step- grandson. He was preceded in death by his father and by his stepfather, Russell Carter. Services were March 30 at Abbott Funeral Home, with Rev. Todd Ladd officiating. Burial was at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora.
