Norma McCarty (Barnhart) - Class Of 1943

Mrs. Norma E. McCarty, 46, of Lexington, Kentucky, died Christmas morning after an illness of a year. She was the daughter of Ruth E. and Garland McCarty. She was graduated in 1943 from Delphi High School. Her marriage in 1946 was to Charles E. Barnhart, who is presently Dean of Agriculture at the University of Kentucky at Lexington. She had been employed as a secretary in the office of the U.S. District Attorney there. Surviving with the husband are three sons, John D. and Charles E. Jr., who are in college and Norman, senior in high school; her mother, Mrs. Ruth McCarty of Brookston, In.; three sisters, Mrs. Lenore Allen of Speedway, Bonnie Jean Crowden of Augusta, Ga.; Mary Byham of Long Island, N.Y.; and three brothers, Bill McCarty of Dawson Springs, Ky.; and Robert and Richard both of Brookston, In. Services and burial were at Lexington Monday.
