Pauline Ross (Humbarger) - Class Of 1943

Pauline L. Humbarger, 95, of Flora, was received into eternity, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020. She was a resident at Blair Ridge Health Campus in Peru, Ind.

Pauline was born to James W. and Hazel Michael Ross on March 30, 1925, in Tippecanoe County, Ind. She was a 1943 graduate of Delphi High School. On June 26, 1943, in Flora, she married Devon Humbarger; he died Feb. 17, 2017.

Pauline was a homemaker and was at Devon’s side working on the farm. She was an active member of the Living Faith Church of the Brethren, serving as a Deaconess and taught Sunday School.

She was a charter member of the Modern Extension Homemakers Club, a member of the Madison Township E.H. Club and the Friendly Circle E.H. Club.

Pauline is survived by her son, Dr. Carl D. (and Sandy) Humbarger of Peru, Ind.; daughter, Carol Marie (and Ron) Pruden of Bloomington, Ill.; four grandchildren, Charles Devon Humbarger, Carl Douglas Humbarger, Chad Darin (and Liz) Humbarger and Chris David Humbarger; and great-grandchildren, Madison Taylor and Hayden Devon.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, stepfather and granddaughter, Carla Marie Humbarger.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 14, at Wheeler Family Funeral Home-Baker Chapel, 204 S. Center St., Flora (46929) from 10 a.m. until the start of funeral at 12 p.m. Pastor Jeff Tomson will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. The State of Indiana requires mask wearing and social distancing while visiting the family.
