Melody Lyn Lanham Hanaway, 58, of Flora, formerly of Delphi, died Tues.-Aug. 23, 2016 at 8:53pm unexpectedly at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.

She was born Mar. 27, 1958 in Beech Grove, to Emma L. Jaynes Lanham, and her late father, Edward Lloyd Lanham. She was formerly married to Edward Loy Hanaway of Delphi, and he survives. She was a 1976 graduate of Delphi Community High School, and received her Associate degree in accounting from the former Clark College in Indianapolis. She was a grain inspector for Indiana Grain (now ADM) at Clymers for 15 years, then was the care coordinator for the Cardinal Center in Logansport. She was a member of the Flora United Methodist Church, and was very involved with the women’s fellowship ministry. She enjoyed craft’s, bowling, cross stitching, and traveling. She dearly loved her family, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving: daughter’s-Jessica & Chris Striegel of Flora, Cassie & Steven Breedlove of Cutler, Candy & David Strong of Flora; mother-Emma L. Lanham of Delphi; sister-Anne E. Wilson of Maroa, IL; brother-Dale & Kari Lanham of Hebron; niece-Meg Lanham of Cedar Lake; 10 grandchildren. Preceded by a grandson Hudson; brother in law David. Services: Friends may call Saturday from 1pm until her funeral service at 3pm, at the Flora United Methodist Church, Pastor Nate Eckert officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flora United Methodist Pre School, envelopes available at the church. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, in charge of arrangements.
