Gerald E. “Stubby” Christiansen, 37, of Delphi, died at 11:08 a m. Oct. 3, 1996, in Home Hospita1, Lafayette, from injuries sustained at a construction site. He was born Oct. 20, 1958, in Lafayette. His marriage was on Aug. 26, 1991, in Delphi, to Barbara Auble Good, who survives. He was a 1978 graduate of Delphi High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1986. A heavy equipment operator, he served in Europe, Guam, and Grenada. For the past seven years, he was employed as a pipe layer for Fairfield Construction Co. He was a member of American Legion Post 75 and VFW Post 9383, both in Delphi. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Also surviving are his mother and stepfather, Dottie and Roger “Stub” Wilson of Delphi; his father and stepmother, Gerald Sr. and Frances Christiansen of Monticello; a stepdaughter, Melinda Burton of Lafayette; two stepsons, Jeremy Good of Rochester and Charles Good of Michigan City; three sisters, Sharon Christiansen, Sandra Christiansen, and Sheryl Shockley, all of Delphi; two half-sisters, Laura Christiansen of New Carlyle, Ohio, and Theresa Epsi of Imboden, Ark.; a half-brother, James Arthur Christiansen of Flora; eight step-grandchildren; his grandparents, Kathryn Wilson of Delphi, Carl and Mable Christiansen of Flora, and Wilma Todd of Traverse City, Mich. Services were Sunday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial was in Morning Heights Cemetery, Rt. 3, Delphi, with American Legion rites.
