Carol was a bright and inquisitive child, and a joy to her parents. She attended Delphi schools and earned her GED in 1966.

She married Robert C. Oliver on January 25, 1958 and had three children; Jill Marie (Sam Rector), Timothy J. (Melissa Roskuski), and Robin W.; five grandchildren, Charlie, Ben, Ashton, Jane, and Brady and two great grandchildren; Maddie, and Max. As a young mother she threw herself into raising her children as she helped out in Sunday School, Bible School, and Scouts, and was their biggest cheerleader at sports events. The house was always full of 4H projects, sports equipment, games, and books.

Carol had several interests, including raising and showing horses and, later, showing champion basset hounds. She and Robert opened a boarding kennel. In addition to boarding all breeds of dogs and cats, Carol had a grooming business for many years. She was a talented artist. She worked at the Dairy Queen and the Dog and Suds to pay for art courses and learned on her own, too. She mastered china painting and held classes in her in home studio. She was an active member of the Delphi Art Club. She helped organize the annual Art Show during Old Settlers and held various offices in her tenure with the group. Her beautiful work is treasured by friends and family. She had an interest in genealogy and investigated her and Bob’s ancestry. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Carol was an antique collector and ran a business selling antiques and art for many years.

Carol also worked as a pre-press supervisor at the Herald Journal in Monticello and later at the Carroll County Museum archiving photos into digital formats.

She and Bob wintered in Arizona in Gold Canyon for twenty years. She loved hiking, sightseeing, and making new friends in the parks they stayed in.

Carol was a vivacious and creative woman. She loved life and shared that love as an involved wife, mother, grandmother, and community member.

Carol was preceded in death by her sister; Carmen (Gordon) Stevens, brother; Bill (Sherry) Randle, and a granddaughter.

A funeral service honoring the life of Carol will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, starting at 1 pm, at Davidson Funeral Home, located at 121 N. Union Street, Delphi, In, with Pastor Jerry Long officiating. Burial will follow at IOOF Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service.
