The Reverend William Kramer Gros died March 5th, 2009. He was born November 2, 1936 in Delphi, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Hubert Gros and Jean Kramer Gros & his sister Louise Casey, all of Delphi, IN. He is survived by a nephew, Doug Gribben, of Texas. He graduated from DePauw University, Greencastle, IN and The General Seminary, NYC. He was ordained in the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago in 1964. He served as Curate at Church of the Holy Spirit, Lake Forest, IL (1964-67); Rector of St. Alban’s, Norwood Park, Chicago, IL (1967-74); Rector of St. Peter’s, Sycamore, IL (1974-88); Vicar of Church of the Epiphany, Chicago (1988-96); and Rector of St. Helena’s, Burr Ridge, IL (1996-2000). He retired January 1, 2000 and worked part-time as a chaplain for Bishop Anderson House, serving at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. A Requiem Mass featuring Mozart’s Mass in C, will be celebrated on April 4, 2009 at 3 PM at the Church of the Atonement, 5749 N. Kenmore Ave., Chicago.
