Noreeta Herr (Pearson)

 Noreeta “Rita” Pearson, 81, of Churubusco, passed away at 10:10 p.m., on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Miller’s at Oak Pointe.

Born on April 7, 1937, in Sheldon, IL., she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Hazel (Long) Herr, Sr.  She spent her formative years in Delphi and graduated from Delphi High School.

Rita was married on July 3, 1955, to Robert “Max” Pearson, in Delphi and moved to this area in 1970.  He preceded her in death on August 13, 2016.

She retired from Churubusco Elementary School after more than 20 years as a teacher’s aide.  In her retirement she worked at Jelly Stone Campground.

Rita loved her family and spending time with them. She will be missed dearly.

The surviving relatives include three sons, Glenn A. (Paula) Pearson of South Bend, Doug (Beth) Pearson, and David Pearson both of Churubusco; two daughters, Tracy (Wayne) Krider of Columbia City and Kristina (Garry) Oliver of Churubusco; two sisters, Cora (Larry) Ware of Fort Myers, FL and Cheryl Beard of Lafayette; three brothers, Richard (Kary) Herr of Delong, FL, Leonard (Rita) Herr of Lafayette and Duane (Beth) Herr of Monticello; nine grandchildren, Michael and Gregory Pearson, Brittany, Jordan, and Kayla Pearson, Nicole Huston, Jarrod Krider, Landon and Mallory Pearson; six great grandchildren, Matthew and Tristan Pearson, Jack and Ava Huston, Holyn and Hayden Krider.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her three sisters, Diana Asoera, Roberta Sparhawk and Della Craig; two brothers, Maurice Herr, Jr. and Jack Herr.

Calling will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Calling also one hour prior to the service.

Services will begin at 11:00 AM, at Collins United Methodist Church, on Monday, July 2, 2018.

 Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
