James E. Hufford, 75, formerly of Delphi, died Tues.-Aug. 26, 2014 at 11:38am, at the IN Veterans' Home, West Lafayette. He was born Feb. 25, 1939 in Carroll County, IN, to the late John & Thelma Gallaway Hufford. He was formerly married to Wanda L. Wray. His marriage was to Donna M. Sheetz Walker in Delphi, on Sept. 29, 1997, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2011. He was a 1957 graduate of Delphi High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He farmed in Carroll County, and hauled stone for area customers. He was a member of the Delphi VFW #9383, and enjoyed attending worship services at the Veterans' Home Chapel. He enjoyed fishing and auto mechanics. Surviving: daughter-Denise & Jim Honeycutt of Delphi; stepdaughters: Rita & Ted Lucas of Flora, Sonia & Jan Criswell of Delphi, Carol & Brad Fisher of Delphi; stepsons: Tim & Angie Draper of Delphi, Curtis & Valarie Draper of Delphi; sister: Patricia Ratcliff of Delphi; sister-in-law: Barbara "Bobbie" & Clifford Venters of Delphi; nieces: Natalie & Aundrea; friends: John & Marilyn Crowel & family, Larry Young, Marion & Treva Rossetter; 2 grandchildren: Jonathan Hufford & Megan Honeycutt, 12 stepgrandchildren, several great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by an inf. daughter Jeanette, a brother Stan Boyles. Services: Friends may call Saturday 10am until his funeral service at 11am at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi.
