Donald Brown

Donald Brown, 78, of Monticello, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at IU Health White Memorial Hospital. Don was born to the late Chester and Mary (Mcvay) Brown, on May 23, 1945, in Logansport, IN.

On November 3, 1990 Don married the love of his life Lois (Rader) Brown, in Flora.

Don attended Delphi High School and graduated in 1963. After graduation, Don attended Purdue University where he studied engineering. Dons career led him to work at Sears in Logansport for several years where he was a salesman. He retired from Sears and held positions at Peters Revington, various carpentry work, and he was the owner of Camden Tavern Double D Saloon for several years.

In his free time, Don had a passion for spending time with his children and grandchildren, hunting and fishing, and being outdoors as much as possible. Don was also a member of Burrows Presbyterian Church in Burrows. He was also a collector of firearms, and was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. Don was also a member of the American Legion Post 81 in Monticello.

Surviving Don include his wife; Lois (Rader) Brown, Daughters; Mary (Josh) Johnston, Brenda (Scott) Sprunger, sons; Eddie (Teresa) McKnight, Max (Denise) McKnight, grandchildren; Troy (Rebecca) Sprunger, Dustin Sprunger, Brianna McKnight, Joshua Roudebush, Kerry (Ashley) McKnight, Liz McKnight, Cody (Nikki Wagner) Scott, Caleb (Jill Bledsoe) Johnston, Noah (Ayanna Thompson) Johnston, Jeremiah (Amanda Smith) Johnston, Kiara Johnston, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by brothers; Gene Brown, Victor Brown, and sister; Janice Brown.

A funeral service honoring the life of Don will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 1 pm, with Troy Sprunger officiating, located at Davidson-Shirey Funeral Home, 121 N. Union Street, Delphi, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Musselman Cemetery in Camden.
