Arthur Politz

ARTHUR JAY POLITZ, 77, of Terre Haute, IN formerly of Jasonville, IN went to his heavenly home at 6 A.M. Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Cobblestone Crossings Health Campus in Terre Haute, IN.

He was born December 12, 1945 in Kokomo, IN to William E. Politz and Helen M. (Miller) Politz.

Arthur married Joan E. (Lichthardt) Politz on October 6, 1973, she passed away November 21, 1991.

Survivors include his son, William Politz of Terre Haute, IN; companion, Judy Wallisa of Jasonville, IN; siblings, twin brother Bill Politz (Gail) of Traverse City, MI, Bob Politz of Evansville, IN, Debbie Barowsky (Karl) of Crawfordsville, IN; several nieces and nephews; cousin, Linda Politz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Toni Politz, Sharon Alberts; nanny Auntie Maye Edwards.

Arthur graduated Delphi High School. Arthur joined the Marines, serving from 1964 to 1968, upon being discharged he attended Valparaiso University where he earned a BA, he then attended IUPUI where he earned a Masters Degree in Education. He later attended Ball State University where he earned his Doctorate in Education. Art enjoyed his career in education. He touched the lives of many students and teachers. He had the ability to make everyone feel appreciated. He enjoyed nature and attending Purdue and IU football games. His passion was reading history, biographies, and books about Vietnam. He worked at Metropolitan School District of Shakamak where he served as Elementary Principle. Arthur enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Peters Parish in Linton, IN. He suffered from Parkinson’s and was living at Cobblestone Crossings Health Campus when he passed.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday, July 31, 2023 with Military Honors to follow at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 11 A.M. Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Linton, IN.

Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora, IN. at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

Stephen Schmidt (1964)

It's sad to see another classmate depart from us. I didn't know Art that well but I do remember he was a nice person back then and I'm sure he was a very nice person his whole life. I say "Hang in there" to the rest of my classmates of 1964. I only went to school in Delphi for a couple of years but that time is very treasured to me,

I have many fond memories of Art and Bill. I pray that God will watch over all of the Politz family.

Art, obviously led a full and treasured life.
