DELPHI -- William Marvin "Bill" Kirby, 61, of Delphi, formerly of Indianapolis, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital, Lafayette.

Born Aug. 12, 1948, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Morris and Rose M. Ghere Kirby. He was a graduate of Delphi High School and Lincoln Tech.

Mr. Kirby was a machinist for General Motors before retiring.

He was a member of the UAW. He enjoyed car mechanics, fixing things, working around the house and racing.

Surviving are two sons, David A. Kirby of Clayton and Todd A. Kirby of Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Joe Kirby of Indianapolis and Tom Kirby (wife: Karen) of Jamestown.

Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Brittany Link, Savannah Kirby, David Kirby Jr. and Andrew Kirby; a niece, Rose Kirby; and a nephew, Tek Kirby.
