FOWLER -- Edna J. Martin, 63, of Fowler, died at 7:09 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central.

She was born Nov. 29, 1947, in Lafayette, to the late Earl and Edith Remaly Peter.

She graduated from Delphi High School in 1966.

On May 29, 1966, she married Edwin L. Martin in Mulberry, and he survives.

Mrs. Martin had worked in the kitchen at Mintonye and Mayflower Mill elementaries, the Romney Coffee Shop, Star Lanes and St. Elizabeth Hospital.

She enjoyed cooking, crafts and spoiling her grandchildren.

Surviving with her husband are two children, Jodie Martin-Yuill (husband: Michael) and Jake Martin (wife: Pamela), both of Boswell; six sisters, Naomi Peter of Mulberry, Lena Massengill and Wilma Chandler (husband: Charlie), both of Frankfort, Martha Graves (husband: Jesse) of Dayton, Jane McKendrie of Lafayette, and Sue Hankins (husband: Bruce) of Delphi.

Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 2 stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Peter, and a brother, Richard Peter.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, with funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909, with Kirk Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
