Janice Ann Gerard Herr, 58, of Star City, passed away May 31, 2008, at 3:55 p.m. at White County Memorial Hospital in Monticello.  She had been in failing health.
  She was born July 26, 1949, in Fort Wayne to the late Fred and Mildred Stephens Gerard.
  She attended Pittsburg Elementary School and was a 1967 graduate of Delphi High School.
  Mrs. Herr worked at Essex Manufacturing in Flora, A.O. Smith in Monticello.  Pigeon Forge Resort in Tennessee, and Johnson Controls in Jefferson City, Mo.
  She was a member of Delphi Christian Church.
  She collected horse figurines and enjoyed meeting and interacting with people. 
  Surviving are a brother, John Gerard (wife: Martha) of Plymouth; a sister, Jennie Moore (husband: R.E.) of St. Joseph, Mo; a longtime friend, Guy R. Benson Jr. of Star City; and many nieces and nephews.
  Herr was preceded in death by an infant nephew, Gerald E. Moore.
  A graveside service will be held June 6 at 4 p.m. at Morning Heights Cemetery in Delphi.
  Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi is in charge of arrangements.
