Carl Borden - Class Of 1968

Carl Borden

 Carl Edgar Borden Sr., 59, of 13 Blue Star Highway, #208, Danville, Ill., died Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Danville Veterans Administration Hospital. He was previously a Carroll County life resident, and had lived in Danville for the past two years.

 

Born June 27, 1950, in Lafayette, he was the son of Lee Borden of Russellville, Ala., and the late Eunice Hicks Borden. He was a 1968 graduate of Delphi High School and served in the Marines during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972.

Mr. Borden previously worked for Zinn Kitchens in Flora for 12 years.

He was a member of Delphi American Legion 75 and Danville Veterans of Foreign Wars 728, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Surviving with his father are a son, Carl E. Borden Jr. of Lafayette; a daughter, Gwendolyn Borden of Lafayette; two sisters, Sue Hahn (husband: Dave) and Debe Cruz (husband: Lou), both of Delphi; and a brother, Curtis Borden (wife: Lori) of Delphi.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Jaylynn D. Borden, Jessy Wyant, Joseph Contreras and Jasmine Contreras; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morning Heights Cemetery, Delphi, Pastor Dan Fisher officiating. Military Rites by Delphi and Camden American Legions, Delphi VFW. Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, in charge of arrangements. Online condolences to: abbottfuneralhome@verizon.ne
