N. Jean Phillips, 75, of Lafayette, died at 11:14 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central. She was born May 7, 1934, in Rushville, and was the daughter of the late Melvin G. and Mary E. Haste Wesley. She graduated from Delphi High School. On March 17, 1956, she married Robert Phillips in Lafayette. He died May 9, 1983. Mrs. Phillips was an accountant at National Homes Corp. for 40 years before retiring in 1999. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren and going out to lunch with friends, classmates and family. Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia L. Garwood (husband: Douglas) and Stephanie J. Griswold (husband: Dan), both of Lafayette, and Susan R. Hampton (husband: Thomas) of Madison; two sisters, Violet Johns (husband: Pete) of Monticello and Mildred Lewis (husband: Robert) of Naylor, Mo.; and two brothers, Kenny Wesley of Naylor and Vernon Wesley of Jefferson City, Mo. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Andrew, Adam, Chloe, Taylor and Dawn.
