Bob Hawkins

  Robert R. "Bob" Hawkins, 77, of 7545 Americus Court, Lafayette, died at 10:23 a.m. on March 30, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
  Born in Gary on April 13, 1928, he was the son of Russell C. and Fern Roth Hawkins.  He was a 1947 graduate of Delphi High School and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S Navy.
  His marriage was to Lyndell "Lynn" Criswell on Oct. 15, 1949, in Burnettsville, and she survives.
  Mr. Hawkins worked at Anheiser Busch as the night superintendent until 1991.  Later, he retired from Eli Lilly, after seven years with the company.
  He was a member of Americus Union Church where he served as a trustee.
  Mr. Hawkins enjoyed reading, woodworking and raising pigeons and doves.
 Surviving with his wife, of Americus, are a son, Terry E. Berryman (wife: Gloria) of Nashville; two daughters, Deborah Wolf (husband: Clyde) of Owen, Wisc., and Luann Wiedenman (husband: Rob) of Fayetteville, Ark.; a sister, Geneva Paul (husband: Bill) of Monticello; 18 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by an infant brother, James C. Hawkins.
  Services were Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, with burial at Masonic Cemetery in Delphi.
  Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Americus Union Church.
