The funeral of Richard L. Lucas, 48, of Rt. 4, Monticello, were this morning at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Monticello. Father Robert Fosselman officiated and burial was in Delphi Masonic Cemetery. He died Saturday, May 26, 1979, at the White County Memorial Hospital. Born in Kokomo on December 24, 1930, he was the son of Wilbur K. and Edith Timberman Lucas. His marriage on September 4, 1954, was to Rita Jane Hannigan, who survives. A resident of White County for three years, he was a retired Major after 30 years in the U.S. Air Force. He had been farming. Other survivors are his mother, of Monticello; two sons, Rick of Reston, Va., and Chris at home; three daughters, Gini Gilmer of Winchester, Diane and Audra at home; two brothers, Thomas E. of Delphi and Samuel J. of the U.S. Navy; a sister Anna Marie Hankins of Delphi and four grandchildren.
