Mrs. Beverlee “Bev” J. Shaffer, 53, Rt. 2, Flora, died Thursday, July 9, 1981 at 4:15 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been a patient since June 28, following a short illness. Born August 22, 1927, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Frederick and Thelma Thompson Morrison. She was a 1946 graduate of Delphi High School and a lifetime resident of this area. She was secretary for the Veterans Services Office at the courthouse. Her marriage to Harry Shaffer Jr. was August 22, 1948. She was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church and recording secretary and charter member of Beta Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority of Delphi. Surviving with her husband are her mother, Thelma Wingard of Lafayette; three sons, Mark D. Shaffer of Indianapolis, Scott A. Shaffer of Delphi and Todd M. Shaffer of Bringhurst, and one grandson. Services were Sunday afternoon at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Ashley officiating. Interment was in Zion Cemetery. Memorials were suggested for Carroll County Cancer Association.
