Jack Schilling - Class Of 1940

Mr. Jack (John J.) Schilling, 68, of 433 North Washington Street, Delphi, departed this life very unexpectedly at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 1989, In his residence. Born January 10, 1921, in Delphi, and a lifelong resident of the community, he was the son of George Schilling and Julia Corcoran. On November 2, 1946. he was married in Delphi to Helen Weaver, and she survives. A 1940 graduate of Delphi High School, Mr. Schilling retired In 1983 from the Globe Valve Corporation, where he was employed in the Machine Shop, with 43 years of service. Jack was a World War II Veteran, and served in the Army and National Guard. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi and the Delphi American Legion Post 73. Surviving with his wife, Helen, who is the Deer Creek Township Trustee, are one son, Mark J. Schilling of Delphi; one daughter. Mrs. Jacqulyn Eaglebarger of Kerrville# Texas; one sister, Georgann Kessler of Fairfax, Virginia; and grandchildren Brandon, Kendra, Kyle and Keenan. Services for Mr. Jack Schilling were held on Tuesday, November 21, 1969 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Father Donald Hardebeck officiating. Burial with American Legion graveside rites was in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Delphi. Delphi Journal November 22, 1989
