Mary Rardon (Weese) - Class Of 1928

Mary Phebe Rardon Weese, 96, of Lebanon, Ind., died at 3:40 a.m. Jan. 18, 2006, at Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, following an extended illness.

Born May 28, 1909, in Delphi, Ind., she was the daughter of James and Ella Coomey Rardon. She was married in Logansport, Ind., on Nov. 10, 1925, to Willard Franklin Weese, who died Dec. 3, 1993.

Mrs. Weese was reared in Delphi, where she resided until 1950 when she and her husband moved to rural Lebanon. In 1989 she moved to Thorntown and resided there until returning to Lebanon three years before she entered Homewood.

Mrs. Weese was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She assisted her husband with the clerical work for the Weese and Sons Bicycle Shop in Lebanon that they operated for several years. She enjoyed her family, traveling, playing cards, gardening and flowers, and fishing.

She was a member of the Delphi Christian Church, V.F.W. in Lebanon, Women of the Moose, and Lebanon Senior Citizens.

Surviving are four grandchildren, Debra Ann Keller (husband: Ronnie) of Madison, Vicki Lynn Wynn (husband: Birley) of Indianapolis, Thomas Willard Weese of Austin, Texas, and Judy Faye Soper (husband: Dan) of Vista, Calif.; five great-grandchildren, Birley J. Wynn and Cory M. Wynn (wife: Mary), all of Indianapolis, Carrie L. Keller of Madison, and Joseph W. Paulk and Talia F. Paulk, both of Vista, Calif.; one sister, Ruth Hyer of Dayton, Ohio; and a special friend, Joann Jones of Thorntown.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Willard G. Weese and Patrick J. “Pat” Weese; a brother, Harley Rardon; and a sister, Vera Schemerhorn.

Funeral service was held Jan. 20 at Myers Chapel of Memories in Lebanon. Interment was at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort, Ind.
