Lewis Shaffer - Class Of 1927

  Lewis H. Shaffer, 62, of Delphi, died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 1977, at Veteran's Hospital, Indianapolis, where he had been a patient one week.
  He had been in ill health one year.
  Born Feb. 8, 1915, in Carroll County, he was the son of Arthur Thomas and Charlotte Riggle Shaffer.
  A veteran of World War II, he was an iron worker.  He was a member of Harry Bohannon Post 75, American Legion and Voiture 40 & 8, Lafayette.
  Surviving are one son, Max Shaffer of Logansport; five daughters, Janette Miller, Bonnie Smith and Judy Nape, all of Delphi, Carole Maroney of Logansport, and Wilma Grecco of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Charles Shaffer of Rt. 1, Delphi; four sisters, Katherine Shaffer and Josephine Coble, both of Rt. 1, Delphi, Margaret Green of Wisconsin, and Isabelle Frye of Logansport; 26 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
  Services were this afternoon, Wednesday, at the Thompson Funeral Home, Delphi.  Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery with military graveside services.
