Bertha Bickell (Klute) - Class Of 1913

Mrs. Bertha Klute, 1628 Portage Ave., died at 3:10 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Hospital where she was admitted at 5 p.m. Thursday. She had been ill a few days. Born in Delphi, Ind., on Jan. 26, 1895, she was married as Bertha Bickell on July 9, 1936, in South Bend to Samuel H. Klute, who died here on July 20, 1959. Mrs. Klute was a graduate of Delphi high school and of Indiana State Teachers College. She had taught in the South Bend schools for a number of years before her marriage. Surviving are two cousins, Mrs. Pearl Nelson of Terre Haute, and Mrs. Maude Holiday of St. Petersburg, Fla. The Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Klute, 1628 Portage Ave., died Friday will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Paul's Memorial Methodist Church. Rev. John D. Wolf, pastor, and Rev. Almon J. Coble, superintendent of the South Bend District of the North Indiana Conference of the Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home and until 11:30 a.m. Monday when the body will be taken to the church. Funeral Note:
