Opal Hawkins - Class Of 1906

Miss Opal Hawkins passed away at the home of her aunt and uncle, Rev. and Mrs. Aaron Wood, in Lafayette, early Thursday morning. The cause of her death was tuberculosis. Miss Hawkins lived with Rev. and Mrs. Wood, when he was pastor of the M. E. church here. Later she attended the Indiana Training school and was teaching, when she contracted a heavy cold. Miss Hawkins was generally beloved in this city. Mrs. Bracken Pollard, of Indianapolis, is a sister of Miss Hawkins. Funeral services took place Friday afternoon at the Wood home in Lafayette. Interment was made in Kentland.
