Lena Sparks (Hannell) - Class Of 1909

 Funeral services for Mrs. Lena M. Hannell, 83, of Delphi, were Monday at Lloyd Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Ashley officiating. She died at 1:20 p.m. Friday, June 13, at Home Hospital, Lafayette. A former resident of 410 E. Franklin St., Delphi, she had been residing at the Flora Brethren Home before being admitted to the hospital Thursday. A lifetime resident of Carroll County, she was an accomplished organist who played for many years for the Delphi United Methodist Church and Lloyd Funeral Home. Born Oct. 21, 1891, she was the daughter of James and Ida Bowen Sparks. She was married in 1915 to Charles Hannell, who died in 1945. She was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star and was a past member of the Business and Professional Women. A daughter-in-law and a granddaughter, both of North Carolina, survive. A son, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Burial was in Delphi Masonic Cemetery.
